I went to see the best band in the world last night. The
DULOKS had a single release party at Metro and, despite it being METRO [could actually be the worst venue in London. Maybe excepting the Dublin Castle] and despite the audience having a mean age of 103, it was WELL GOOD.
Gig's seems a weird description, as i reckon they only really played music for maybe 10 of their 30 min set. The remaining 20 was taken up with Fawlty Towers impersonations and Mira being
Official Dulok Comedienne. Hecklers were humiliated, ex-boyfriends embarrassed and men with beards collected.
Man, I wish WE could have pulled drunken people up onstage and humiliate them when they shouted "You're Shit". Thing is, being four skinny indie boys, pulling drunked men onstage for humiliation could be dangerous. Especially when you're playing a warehouse in Hackney.
Actually, nowadays there's usually barriers and big scary bouncers. Like that confused one who stood RIGHT NEXT TO ME for the whole of the Chalk gig. Man, that was weird.
Also, while we're on the subject of Bands I Love, my
Das Wanderlust shirt arrived today. It's yellow.
Anyway, go see the
